The RFID tags can be activated by food packaging machines as they travel by on conveyors. These tags can also be triggered even when packed in bulk cartons that are up to three feet across. Tracking and analyzing productivity and performance of the food packaging machines can be done quite easily using these tags. Retailers then have the option of leaving the tags either turned on or off depending on the compatibility with any existing electronic article surveillance (EAS) systems they may have.
